Ils sont souvent simplistes, exag\u00e9r\u00e9s et bas\u00e9s sur des <strong>g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisations<\/strong> qui ne tiennent pas compte des diff\u00e9rences individuelles au sein du groupe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes \u00e9mergent en partie parce que notre cerveau cherche \u00e0 simplifier et \u00e0 organiser l&#8217;information pour \u00eatre plus rapide \u00e0 mieux la comprendre et la m\u00e9moriser. Ils agissent comme des raccourcis cognitifs qui nous permettent de traiter plus facilement des informations complexes. Or, ce qui est rapide et facile, n\u2019est pas n\u201dcessairement juste et factuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En se servant des st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes, les gens peuvent communiquer plus ais\u00e9ment des informations, m\u00eame si celles-ci sont souvent inexactes ou incompl\u00e8tes. Ainsi, nous prenons de notre m\u00e9moire individuelle et collective des exemples du pass\u00e9 pour les calquer sur une situation du pr\u00e9sent; avec toutes les cons\u00e9quences que cela puisse produire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La premi\u00e8re cons\u00e9quence des st\u00e9r\u00e9oypes est une<\/strong><strong> p<\/strong><strong>erception biais\u00e9e<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong><strong>Ainsi, nous<\/strong> interpr\u00e9tons le comportement des autres, souvent de mani\u00e8re injuste ou incorrecte, en suivant les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s menant aux <strong>discriminations<\/strong>.
